GSHP's deliver heat and hot water to your home or business and can lower your fuel bills. They could also provide you with an income with the governments Renewable Heat Incentive.
-
Ground Source Heat pumps work by taking heat in the ground and converting it into useable energy. Pipes are buried in the ground and the heat generated can be used to heat your radiators, hot water and heating systems.
-
With fuel bills escalating every year, you can save a significant amount with renewable energy. How much you can save will depend upon what you are currently using to heat your building, and what system you replace it with.

Benefits of Air Source Heat Pumps
-
What it costs and what you save.
-
Air source heat pumps absorb heat from the outside air. This heat can then be used to warm water for radiators or underfloor heating systems, or to warm the air in your home.
-
Benefits include no more need to pay for gas, oil or solid fuels to heat your home. Air source heat is also more efficient than using electric radiators.
-
Savings can be considerable. Costs for installing a typical system suitable for a detached home range from about £7,000 with savings starting instantly.

Ground Source Heat Pumps.
Heat your home or business with energy from the ground.
With our constant search for further scarce sources of fossil fuels goes a growing realisation that their use causes environmental damage not least of which is global warming. It is these two factors of cost and environmental degradation which has brought the renewable energy sector into greater prominence.
One tried and tested system in the forefront of the possible heating alternatives is to tap into the geothermal energy beneath our feet by using Ground Source Heat Pumps. A few metres down, the earth remains at a constant temperature and is a perfect solution to reduce your heating bills.
This technology has been around now for over sixty years and is an increasingly popular way of reducing heating and hot water costs for domestic and commercial buildings. Requiring little or no maintenance, renewable energy is the future of heating and will make expensive fossil fuels a thing of the past for you.
For most people, however, the workings and cost benefits of this technology will probably be unfamiliar. In simple terms, the system works by taking ground heat and turning it into useable energy. Because the Sun's radiation keeps the Earth at a constant temperature of between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius at a depth of 1.5 metres, this can be taken up by Ground Source Heat Pumps.
Ground heat is absorbed by pipes containing a circulating Thermal Transfer Fluid laid either horizontally or in deep boreholes and converted for heating by a heat pump, which runs at between 300% and 400% efficiency. The heat can be used in an under-floor heating system or conventional radiators. The process can also be reversed to provide cooling when required.
Although not all properties are suitable for this system, many can take advantage of this technology. Durable piping, no boiler maintenance, no fire risk, maintenance-free operation all add to the attractions. When allied with suitable insulation, substantial savings of 75% and more can be made on heating costs.
